These terms govern the use of SpotLite's professional APIs (the "API Service") and of our browser extensions: "SpotLite Copilot" and "SpotLite Talent · Prospect" (each, an "Extension"). They supplement our Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. By using the API or an Extension, you (the "Client" or "User") accept these terms.
Part A — "SpotLite Copilot" browser extension#
Function. The Extension allows you to save a job posting viewed in your browser directly to your SpotLite account.
Data processed. When you trigger the saving of a job yourself, the Extension sends SpotLite the content of the viewed page (the displayed document) in order to extract the job information. The Extension:
- only acts on your explicit action (click on the save button);
- does not collect your browsing history and does not track your background activity;
- does not read or transmit the content of pages unrelated to saving a job;
- does not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising purposes.
Authentication and sessions. The Extension authenticates via a personal key linked to your account, stored hashed (never in clear text) on the server side. The number of simultaneous devices (browsers) is limited. You can revoke the key or a device at any time from the app; the Extension is then immediately disconnected.
Limited Use (Chrome Web Store). The Extension's use of received data complies with the rules of the Chrome Web Store program, including the Limited Use requirement: data is used only to provide the visible feature (saving jobs), is never sold, is not transferred to third parties except as necessary to provide the service, for security or legal obligation, and is not used for targeted advertising.
Respect for third-party sites. You are responsible for complying with the terms of use of the third-party sites you visit. The Extension is a personal tool to help organize your job search.
Part A bis — "SpotLite Talent · Prospect" browser extension#
Function. Intended for recruiters and companies, this Extension allows you, from the page of a company you are viewing, to analyze that company (news signals and estimated hiring needs) and save the result to your "Clients" records on SpotLite.
Data processed. When you trigger an analysis yourself, the Extension sends SpotLite the displayed content of the viewed page in order to identify the company. SpotLite then searches for public professional information about it and, using AI, infers signals and hiring needs. The Extension:
- only acts on your explicit action (click on the analyze button);
- does not collect your browsing history and does not track your background activity;
- does not read or transmit the content of pages unrelated to a company analysis;
- only processes public professional information relating to the analyzed company, and not irrelevant personal data of third parties;
- does not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising purposes.
Authentication and billing. The Extension authenticates via your professional API key linked to your account, stored hashed (never in clear text). The AI analysis is charged to your AI balance or your credits, in accordance with our Payment Terms. You can revoke the key at any time; the Extension is then immediately disconnected.
Limited Use (Chrome Web Store). The Extension's use of received data complies with the rules of the Chrome Web Store program, including the Limited Use requirement: data is used only to provide the visible feature (analyzing and saving companies to your Clients), is never sold, is not transferred to third parties except as necessary to provide the service, for security or legal obligation, and is not used for targeted advertising.
Respect for third-party sites and data subjects. You are responsible for complying with the terms of use of the third-party sites you visit and for your prospecting obligations (informing data subjects, legal basis, GDPR). The Extension is a professional tool to help prospect and qualify companies.
Part B — API Service (B2B)#
Access and keys. Access to the API Service is subject to approval and the allocation of a personal API key. The key is strictly confidential; you are responsible for any use made with it and must report any compromise to us without delay. We may suspend or revoke a key at any time in the event of abuse, security risk or breach of these terms.
Scope of data access. The API Service only gives access to the data that users have chosen to make accessible (public / sourcing mode) and within the limits of the actions authorized for your key. You undertake to access only the data necessary for your declared purpose.
API Client obligations. The Client undertakes to: (1) comply with the GDPR and applicable law, as a separate controller or processor as the case may be; (2) guarantee the confidentiality and security of the data obtained; (3) not resell, redistribute or build a competing database; (4) use the data only for the declared recruitment/sourcing purposes and inform data subjects as required by law; (5) delete data when it is no longer necessary or upon request from SpotLite or the data subject; (6) not circumvent rate limits, quotas or security measures.
Technical limits. Quotas, rate limits and action restrictions apply and may change. The API Service is provided "as is"; we may modify, deprecate or discontinue it with reasonable notice where possible.
Liability. The Client is solely responsible for its use of the data and shall indemnify SpotLite against any third-party claim resulting from non-compliant use of the API Service.
